A few times I've come across those videos of celebrities being interviewed while they play with a bunch of little puppies. There's nothing cuter and softer than seeing these people having them run around and wagging their little tails, chewing their shoelaces, and trying to climb up their backs. Those are the best interviews to watch, even though the people end up playing with the dogs more than they answer questions. And on second thought, maybe that's exactly what makes them the best kinds of interviews. I firmly believe that all hoomas here prefer to watch a video of a dog being cute and doing pup stuff rather than simply listening to a person talk. That becomes boring quickly. Dogs, on the other hand, are interesting forever.

I remember that when I was a little girl, I used to be afraid of dogs. We didn't have any at that time, and the ones I knew belonged to my neighbors. None of them had puppies; all of them had big, grown-up dogs, and although they were beautiful and really good boys, they were almost twice my size. Again, I was really young, so my memories about them are blurry, but I remember enough to know that they were the ones who helped me stop being scared. A few years later, we adopted our own dog, a puppy, and I was the happiest girl in the whole world. I wasn't scared anymore, and I could enjoy running around with my pup, taking him for a walk, playing with him and the water hose during summer, and holding him close during cold seasons. My childhood was a happy one, all because of my dogs. And yes, dogs, in plural, because we had several.

It's been some time since I've had a baby animal close. After all, the dogs and cats I have are all grown up. Sometimes I miss the time when they were babies, and I think, “Maybe I should get another puppy,” but then I remember that they are a lot of work, and that I'm actually running out of space, so I discard the idea. My boyfriend, though, is insisting on us adopting a new one when we move in together. Mind you, he already has a dog, and I have a cat. They haven't met each other yet, and we have no idea how that first encounter will unfold when it happens. I think that the best will be to give them both the time to get to know each other and get used to their new situation first. When that happens, who knows, maybe another puppy will keep them entertained.
